Many thanks! Actually writing this novel would be an insane amount of work; just writing the synopsis involved more research than is entirely rational. And then at the end of it, the book might turn out to be another Snakes on a Plane anyway. Maybe it would be better to just leave people wanting those imaginary alternate universe pulp novels.

@ circumstantial: Many thanks to you as well! I'll be very interested to see if anyone can guess the two movies that inspired this. In the book, no problem, because the book's in the public domain. But if you touch their trademark, they'll have to protest. It's just how copyright and capitalism intersect. Will Shetterlyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08539053268352597627noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22073066.post-20830205395900924532009-11-24T21:01:46.647-05:002009-11-24T21:01:46.647-05:00No, use "Tarzan" -- it's brilliant.

I don't think you could use "Tarzan" in the title because of the estate, but otherwise, you'd be fine.

At Tor.com, there was recently a smart review of a Tarzan silent movie that pointed out some ways the silent had improved on Burroughs. Will Shetterlyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08539053268352597627noreply@blogger.com
